  • How will I know if you are the right counselor for me?
I understand that it can sometimes be challenging and intimidating to choose a counselor. I will work with you honestly and openly before sessions even begin to ensure we are a good match. I provide potential clients with a free 15-minute phone consultation to determine if I am a good option for your specific needs. This phone call will also include discussing any issues you wish to address in counseling and ensuring they fall within the scope of my expertise.
  • What is Catholic Counseling?
First and foremost, Catholic Counseling utilize evidence-based counseling practices proven to be effective in treating various struggles. Additionally, I seek to incorporate my faith in all that I do and as a Catholic, I will not contradict the Church's teachings in any of my practices or counseling methods. Many who seek counseling desire to have all of who they are understood. Integrating faith into the counseling process can help those who value their faith to feel more wholly understood. For some, this may look like incorporating prayer, scripture, or the sacraments; for others, it may mean relying on the Catholic Anthropology of the Human Person. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counseling and will incorporate your faith as you feel comfortable. You do not need to be Catholic to seek services at Pax counseling, and your beliefs and values will be respected. All are welcome to receive help from Pax Counseling.
  • Do you provide virtual appointments?
Yes, virtual appointments are available for clients who reside in Indiana and are over the age of 12 years old. Appointments will be provided on an easy-to-use, HIPPA compliant video conferencing platform. Virtual appointments may be combined with in-person therapy, or sessions may be held exclusively online. If you have any further questions about virtual appointments, please contact Justin.
  • How do I pay for counseling?
I understand counseling is a significant financial investment. Because of this, many may wish to use insurance to pay for counseling services. Unfortunately, Pax Counseling does not accept insurance at this time. This choice gives Pax Counseling and clients more freedom by not being limited by the requirements of the insurance companies. Various payment options are available, including cash, check, credit and debit cards, Flexible Saving Accounts (FSA's), and Health Saving Accounts (HSA's). Pax Counseling will provide a Superbill that can be turned into insurance companies to reimburse out-of-network providers upon request. This responsibility will fall on the client and is something you will need to check with your insurance company to see if this is possible.
